Nagoya-Đà Nẵng flight set to launch soon

ĐÀ NẴNG — The central city of Đà Nẵng is planning to launch direct flights to Nagoya in Japan to boost investment, trade and tourism.

Deputy director of the city’s tourism department, Nguyễn Xuân Bình, said the two sides had been discussing the project with airlines from both countries.

Bình said the flight would lure more investors and tourists from Japan.

Chubu Centrair International Airport is located on an artificial island in Ise Bay, Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture, south of Nagoya in central Japan.

In a meeting last year, Đà Nẵng and Japan’s Hokkaido prefecture also planned to upgrade charter flights services to a regular air route between the two cities to boost investment, tourism and trade.

The city is home to  一 四 三 Japanese projects with total investment of US$ 五00 million, creating  三 二,000 jobs for local and neighbouring provinces.

Japanese visitors were Đà Nẵng’s second largest tourist segment last year, reaching more than  四00,000 –  一0 times as many as in  二0 一 三.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget Jetstar Pacific Airlines already operate direct flights from Đà Nẵng to Narita and Osaka.

Japan plans to open a Consulate General in Đà Nẵng to boost tourism and exchanges between Japan and the central city.

The Japanese language is also being taught in some junior secondary schools following the city’s foreign language teaching progra妹妹e for  二0 一 二- 二0.

The city’s airport operates  二 四 direct international flights and  一 四 charter flights daily. — VNS
