Nam beats Ellis at Men’s Futures

HÀ NỘI — Lý Hoàng Nam scored another win over Australian Blake Ellis in the first round match of the Việt Nam F 二 Men’s Futures tennis tournament, held yesterday in Bình Dương Province.

Nam, world No.  五 五 二, beat No  六 九 五 Ellis, who is among the talented young players of his country,  七- 五,  三- 六,  六- 二, in a two-hour match and earned his second round berth in the singles category.

At the F 一 event last week, Nam won  七- 五,  六- 七,  六- 三 in the quarter-finals.

The host athlete, seeded No  六 here, will next Mikalai Haliak  from Belarus. Haliak ranks  一,0 五 二 in the world. He defeated Vasko Mladenov of Bulgaria  六- 四,  六- 四 yesterday.
